UK Studios get a Boost, Jurassic World Set to be Filmed in the Country
Published: May. 4, 2024
The Jurassic World saga is about to take a detour from the familiar tropical locales and venture deep into the heartlands of the UK. This surprising shift in location is set to occur in the yet-to-be-titled fourth installment of this mega-franchise. However, a recent startling development promises an even greater stir...
The reason behind the franchise's move to the UK? A sudden announcement on business rate cuts for movie studios. This favourable financial move by the UK government is expected to bolster the local economy significantly, attracting not just Jurassic World, but potentially other big-ticket productions too.
The shooting for the latest Jurassic adventure is slated to begin this year at Sky Studios Elstree. While the release date is a few years away in 2025, the anticipation has already begun to build. If the success of the previous film is anything to go by, the UK economy could be looking at a colossal uplift.
Jurassic World Dominion, the preceding film in the series, added more than 2,000 jobs and injected a staggering £180 million into the UK economy. Could the fourth installment repeat or perhaps even surpass this achievement in terms of positive economic impact?
The cinematic dream duo, screenwriter David Koepp and executive producer Steven Spielberg, seems to be ready for the challenge. Koepp, known for his work on the original Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World, will be penning this new chapter. Spielberg will lend his renowned touch in the executive producer role. With the stage set, only the time will tell what saga unfolds as Jurassic World hits British shores.
