An alarming event unfolded in the disputed waters of the South China Sea on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023. The Philippine Coast Guard reported the Philippine navy supply boat, M/L Kalayaan receiving water cannons and being rammed by a Chinese Coast Guard ship near the Ayungin Shoal, known internationally as the Second Thomas Shoal.
