As the leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer is filled with a burning desire for power. However, a heavyweight of New Labour has issued an unusual piece of advice to him. Lord Mandelson, during his appearance on the Times Radio Podcast

How to Win an Election, urged Starmer to "lose a little weight". According to him, "a little weight loss" would improve his image. However, in an attempt to appear unbiased, he added that Rishi Sunak, too, could work on his presentation skills.

The Prime Minister, whose attire often includes short trousers, a slim suit, and a skinny tie, came under Mandelson's criticism as well. The Labour grandee accused him of dressing in a manner that "diminishes rather than enhances his stature".

Yet, this advice did not sit well with Wes Streeting, the Shadow Health Secretary. Streeting openly expressed his opposition to "that sort of fat-shaming."

During an interview with LBC, Streeting said, "Peter should know better." He also hinted at Lord Mandelson's physique, saying, "We've seen him sport the occasional paunch himself."
